INFORMATION WE COLLECT
User Information
If you subscribe to use Accounting Answers' Service, we will ask for personal information such as your name, email address, physical address, and payment address. We use that information to identify you when you log-in to use our products, for billing purposes, to collect payments, to provide you with account support, and to keep you informed about your account and our products if you have requested to receive such information.
The only personal information that we collect from your visit is what you voluntarily provide to us for specific purposes, such as to ask questions, provide feedback, subscribe to our communications, or register for an account.
Accounting Answers only collects personal information that is necessary for the administration of a lawfully authorized purpose, in accordance with section 38(2) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA). At the time of collection, you will be informed of the specific purpose for which it is being collected.
Website Traffic
In addition, Accounting Answers collects and analyzes traffic on our website by keeping track of the IP addresses of our visitors and by collecting log file information. Your IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to the computer that you are using by your Internet service provider (ISP) or by another organization. An IP address, by itself, cannot identify you personally. However, when combined with other information, your IP address can be used to identify the computer you are using. In addition, Accounting Answers may use your IP address to estimate your geographic location. We discuss log file information further in a later paragraph of this Section.
Cookies
Accounting Answers uses tracking technology called “cookies” on our website and to deliver our Service. By visiting our website or using Accounting Answers' Service you agree to the use of cookies in your internet browser and HTML-based emails. Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website, in order to track the use of the site and to improve your user experience. Accounting Answers uses “session cookies”, which make the user experience more efficient by storing certain information from your current visit on your device, such as log-in information. These session cookies help Accounting Answers to recognize your log-in session so you can move easily within our website and access Accounting Answers' Service.
Log File Information
Your web browser automatically sends information to every website you visit, including our website. For example, our server logs may receive and record information such as the pages you access on our website, the website you visited before landing on ours (called referring URLs), your browser type, your operating system, the date and time of your visit, and the duration of your visit to each page.
We use Google Analytics to analyze non-identifiable web site traffic data to improve our services. This data is collected and stored by Google Analytics. For information on how this data is stored, refer to Google Analytics’ Terms of Service of Google Analytics and How Google Uses Data When You Use Our Partners’ Sites or Apps.
Our web analytics will respect any "do not track" setting you might have set on your browser. You can also opt-out of Google Analytics by installing a browser plug-in available on Google’s website.
To disable cookies, you can follow these instructions:

User Agent Strings
Log file information may also include a user agent string, a series of characters automatically sent with your Internet requests, that provides information necessary for smooth Internet communications, such as the operating system and browser you used. Similar to an IP address, a user agent string by itself does not identify you personally. However, when combined with other information, a user agent string might be used to identify the computer you are using.
Collection of Additional Information; Retention
